A Little Bit of the Leprechaun

Today during family time I asked the kids what holiday was coming up.  Admittedly, most of them are not aware.  I mean, St Patricks Day is not a holiday that one usually gets extremely excited about unless of course you go to preschool at Bright Beginnings.  This is one of our favorite times of year. It’s magical.  We spend one day walking around town searching for clues so we can catch that crazy leprechaun and steal his gold.  I planted the seed today.  Tomorrow we will dig a little deeper.

Some of the other wonderful things going on today.

Click that little video above… Do you remember at the beginning of the year when Annalise had a hard time coming in each morning ? It was  a struggle.   This morning I walked up to hear her on the stool I sit on a lot singing ” Come .. to the circle… Come … to the circle children. ”  She was smiling ear to ear.

This morning I found this basket of flash cards from LONG ago.

No worries. I bought new ones.  🙂   There is NOTHING on those flashcards that I can’t do with these materials as a child plays.

Malea and Naomi have been out a few days. They had a death in the family.   After breakfast I looked to find them both in the calm down center going through the materials, using the calm down lotion and playing with the feelings dolls.  They weren’t sad or upset but I think just needed to feel the safety of our calm down area and regroup.  They stayed in there for quite a while.  The best way I can describe it to an adult is :  Have you ever just felt sad or out of sorts and a certain sweater or song or food made you feel better ? This.. is what the calm down spot does for our littles.

It was a good day.
