Fire 🔥
Once a month our licensing standard requires us to have a fire drill and a tornado drill. Today we did our first fire drill. The smoke alarms go off and the children are encouraged to look after each other and hurry to the back door. I put their shoes in a basket quickly and we all head to the back gate. I try to do this so that children are not scared but understand how important it is that during that time we remain calm and follow directions .

Interesting piece of trivia. And family child care homes when we have a fire drill everyone in the home including the pets must go out. So we had to Mr. Randy in Delta today. In 30 years no one has ever told me this. Maybe it’s in the regulations? I’m not sure… But I’m a rule follower so we started that today.
