Old MacDonald Had a Farm

Old MACDONALD had a farm
E-I-E-I-O
And on his farm he had a cow
E-I-E-I-O
With a moo moo here
And a moo moo there
Here a moo, there a moo
Everywhere a moo moo
Old MacDonald had a farm
E-I-E-I-O

Today we kicked off our unit on farm animals. After breakfast we headed outside to play and beat the impending rain.  It never came and the weather was so amazing that we did many of our activities outside today.

We read a book about farm animals and their babies. Later I put the BIG BOOK on the floor in the playroom and the kids ” read ” it alone.

We charted what we already know about farms.

We played a game with farm animals.  Ms Dallas hid 16 farm animals in the front yard while I read the book. The children found an animal and brought it to be and told me what sound it makes.  They really loved that game .

Inside we had new toys.  Pax looked at the tub and said ” Ms Debbie , you have NEW TOYS!???” Yes, I do.  They love when a new tub is pulled out. This is why rotating materials is so important !

Here are some of the new materials from today.
