Rainy Day Fun

I wish I had enough rain suits and boots for everyone to go on adventures in the rain. Wouldn’t that make for some amazing memories! Until then we will hang out inside. These are the days you have to rev up and pull everything out of your toolbelt to keep the children engaged .

One thing that kept us all busy this morning was our eye exams.

I did not know they had a new mobile unit but it was huge and really quite amazing.

Miss Holly went outside and stayed in the unit so that we knew the children were safe and the nurses came in to get two or three at a time for the exams.

The children said they had fun and I believe two out of 15 will have to get further examination and glasses.

We should have full reports within the week.

We also took time to do 10 minutes of go-noodle today while our cookies were baking. GoNoodle is a YouTube channel that combines movement with music.

Speaking of cookies… We made some out of cake mix.

This is super easy. Have you ever done this? You choose what flavor cake mix you want and add half a cup of oil and two eggs and sister. You bake at 350° for 10 to 15 minutes.

Of course they loved eating them.

One indicator of quality is that children can experience exercise and gross motor activity even when we have to stay inside. We ahave a box that covers nine of the major motor skills the children usually encounter when they are outside. I haven’t taken this box down in a while but today we did. You can see some of the different activities the children enjoy .

Large motor – legs

Large motor arms.
