We started out our day talking about the weather. When the children left yesterday we were talking about the freezing rain and that the weatherman said it may snow. Obviously it didn’t – womp womp womp …However the conversation was still going on. I told the children I could show them how to make paper snowflakes. The idea wasn’t to master a beautiful snow flake but to invite and encourage the children to practice using the scissors. It worked.
Jude’s out of town grandma and New Yorker uncle Adam stopped by to play. That was fun.
We each also got a copy of the Sneezy Snowman and read it.
This is a great predictable text book. It repeats the same lines . When reading a book like this to your child when you get to the repetitive parts – pause — let your child fold in the blank. This book also explored science concepts. I mean – what do you expect to happen when a snowman sits in a hot tub ? 🤷🏻♀️
