Those two things have zero in common. I guess they REALLY do since one agency checks food safety and one is a food. but it seemed like a creative title none the less.
Skittles – Today we sorted skittles on a turkey and then ate them. The kids love doing activities like this and it gives them a rare sweet treat.
We talked about cranberries today. Cranberries are a staple for many people’s Thanksgiving tables. In my family growing up we always had the jellied cranberry sauce that you dump from a can and slice. In Randy’s family ( and Danielles new family ) they actually cook cranberries and serve it that way. I don’t know until last year if I have ever had homemade cranberry sauce. So , today we did a little exploring. Where do cranberries come from ? ( They grow in bogs.) We looked at real cranberries and those that wanted to tasted the cranberry. We watched an ocean spray commercial so the kids could see cranberries as they are being harvested. Very interesting. For snack we will taste test which cranberry sauce we prefer. Mr Randy is making the homemade sauce in the instant pot and I bought the can. 🤷🏻♀️
We also made teepees
from a craft kit that was in the theme box. Interesting conversation took place while they colored. Are Indians alive now ? Where do they live? My great grandmother was full blooded Cherokee Indian and Kamden is Indian as well !
And then the health department showed up. Mary jo is always kind. We had no write ups. Randy took the kids outside while I walked through the inspection with her. This should be my last health department inspection before I lower my licensing size to 10. It’s only above 10 littles this is required. The kitchen is always clean but it’s still nerve racking.
