What Do We Know About Music ?
This group of littles has always loved music. Many of them would rather listen to music and dance than play with toys.
Today I asked them what they know about music. Pretty much most of them just gave me names of their favorite songs. Melanie added “We can sing songs about Jesus!” Levi said “We can play songs about friends or school or family or home.”
Later in the morning Randy sat for a while and played instruments with the kids. He made up songs and they played instruments .
Randy would sing “ I can play music on my drum. I can play music on my harp. I can play music on my guitar .” As he named the different instruments the children played along.
We will continue to look more at why the children love music so much. Is it the fact that they have extra energy and it gives them an outlet for movement? Is it that they can control the loud and soft sounds? Is it part of their family culture?

And if you get the choice to sit it out or dance … I hope you dance.
Music is a huge part of mine and Randy’s life. It feels great to share this amazing form of communication and art with our kids.
