Spider Math
Today we made a spider web and then turned it into a math game
All of the kids could count the dots on the dice correctly but several struggled with finding the correct number on the game board.
We do a lot of one to one correspondence activities but not a lot of numeral recognition. Though it’s low on my bucket list for preschool I do know one way I can assist. This is our current calendar.
We use it to count up to holidays , birthdays or other special days. It helps us rote count up to 30 and use one to one correspondence. We touch each square as we say a number. The numbers on this calendar are so small. I think next month I’ll write the numbers larger so the numeral is reinforced as we quickly count the days.
