After having our traditional Friday dance party I read each child’s story to them and they made five little pumpkin stick puppets.
The main purpose of this fun activity was to see how far along the children have come in their scissor skills. Some of the children are still struggling. They tend to point the scissors toward themselves or hold the scissors upside down.
Although I can show them the proper way to hold scissors and coach them through the process it’s still a skill that gets better with practice. Can I challenge you at home when you are cooking to sit your children at the table with scissors and paper and let them cut?
We took a long walk today too. We walked to the library to return our books. On the way we looked for pumpkins. Hazel had a clipboard to make tally marks for the number of pumpkins with all along the way.
Some houses had none. Some houses had one. Some houses had a few. Some houses have many .
Our town is a really beautiful town to walk around in.
For a while there it almost felt normal pre-Covid times .
As we passed through downtown the smell was amazing from the bakery and 28 Springs. We stopped and looked in the windows at the delicious cupcakes. Sadly, the teacher ( me 🥴) did not bring her debit card so we could not get any. I told the children that next time I will plan better.
As we walked closer to the park of course the children wanted to go play . There were other children on the playground equipment. I talked to the kids about it and since I had not asked parents opinions on a community playground we decided to wait. Your kids are rock stars and did not get upset.
