The kids came in today ready to rumble. Being inside all day is unfortunate but we made the best of it.
We started our day celebrating Hinslee turning four. That means more pancakes with Cool Whip and sprinkles. Yay!
We read a new book and the children really enjoyed it. It’s about a pumpkin. It was different . All the customers left it on the storekeeper’s shelf. No one wanted him. Books like this give us the opportunity to talk about being different and the emotions we feel if we are picked last.
Later in the morning while lunch was being put on plates we did a little book that I found in my tub. It’s a math book about spiders . The children glued spiders on. We talked about using tiny drops of glue but I fully expect that when they grab their books to take them home they will be glued together. Sorry about that but – people work with me I’m trying to fill a rainy day 🤣🤣🤣
We also made pumpkin Playdoh. I did not have any food coloring left from our exploring colors unit so we just left it white. You could hear the children say “this smells good. Yummy. It smells like cinnamon.” I used pumpkin pie spice in the Playdoh.
Considering it was a Monday and a rainy day I would say it went well. With the rain hitting the roof the children are all sleeping very soundly right now
