My training this week is focusing how to educate parents on what conscious discipline is and how I use it in my classroom. I always felt like I did a pretty good job of that but got some definite pointers in day one .
I’m excited mostly about the energy I feel in the renewed confidence to continue using this technique .
While I was learning the children were learning too. I promised them that this week they would open the pumpkin and they did just that. I explained to Katy how I am doing learning stories now and this week I absolutely need her help record observations and quotes. She came through with flying colors. I am optimistic that even though I missing the main part of the day three days this week I will have enough material to do the learning stories.
Today the children talked about what they thought might be inside the pumpkin and brainstormed ideas on how to get it open? They also decided what should happen to the insides once they get the pumpkin open.
Some quotes that you may enjoy from the day. It feels sticky. It feels slimy and gross. Maybe we need a carver to open it. We can open it with a Can opener . It feels like it’s snot like I’m touching someone inside nose.”
