We’ve done a lot of color mixing and we’ve learned that you make different colors when you combine primary colors. They know that green can be made by mixing blue and yellow but I wonder what the children think about the color black.
The children know if you mix all the paint colors it turns brown or muddy.
Today I told him a very big word. Chromatography. It’s a way of separating a mixture of colors. In our case we are going to separate black.
It did not work as well as I expected. 🤷🏻♀️ but we did notice our water in the cups turned blue.
While we had the black going we decided to experiment making gray ! When I do dial 3 assessments it is common that very few of the children usually know what gray is.
Some of the children had light gray and some of the children had dark gray. I asked them why they thought the grays looked different. Levi was able to tell me that some children had more white than others.
And while we had our hands painted black why not make a handprint ?
