September 15 is International Dot. day. This day is celebrated around the book called “The Dot “ by Peter Reynolds.
“The Dot” is about a young girl named Vashti who does not believe she can draw. One day, her teacher tells her to just make a mark and see where it takes her. She grabbed her marker, made a dot, and signed it. … At the end, she helps encourage another young girl that she can do anything she puts her mind to.
So today, we did all things DOT.
I took sheets of paper And put a random black dot of different sizes on each paper. I encourage the children to make their mark and see where it would go. Hopefully you saw the video in our group were each child explained their picture. They were pretty creative.
We also created a dot art piece like the little girl in the book.
One of the most important things that the teacher requested of the little girl in the book with that she signed her name. Because all artist signed their name. And that’s exactly what we did!
