Real Place
With the play invitation yesterday, children began to build their awareness about the area where we play, where everything is in their room and the sizes of things in relation to other things.
We started by looking at the globe and talking about how it is really a map and looking at where we are on it. The lines symbolize different areas, and the words on top of the areas have the name of the places.
We started our exploration of a space by drawing our play area. We started at the door and worked our way all the way around the room.
Once we had map the whole room the children colored in a decorated the map
.
I told the children when we return I will hide treats and mark the hiding spot on the map so that they can find the treats themselves .
The children really enjoyed this activity, especially the girls. I figure the boys will get more into it once the treats are hidden 🤣
Also – remember our bean activity ? They are growing !
