Today the children continued to explore identity through place. An activity offered was “mapping “ their way to school. Terri said most of them really enjoyed this.
They also used the map of the playroom they made last week to hunt for treasure.
I didn’t get any “found” pictures but I’m sure they loved their treasure.
All these fun “ learning” activities and all they really wanted to do was make snow angels.
This is a great example of children wanting to learn through their own relevant experiences. If there was still adequate snow on the ground could we teach anything in the “ snow angel “ lane ?
Absolutely!!!
1. Spacial awareness
2. Demonstrates motor skills , stability and balance
3. Demonstrates understanding of the earths environment
And so many more!!!
Play always trumps learning activities when your 3-5.
