Today we started discussing voice levels. It’s helpful if everyone uses them at home too. It’s a game changer.
Level 0 – no voice
Level 1 – whisper
Level 2 – normal talking voice
Level 3 – the voice you might use to get someone’s attention or talk to a group.
Level 4 – the voice you might use if you are calling someone from another room or part of the house
Level 5 – yelling – emergency – outside.
If we want to talk about kindergarten skills or life skills in general knowing how to control your voice is a big one. We talked about times you might use a number 1 voice –
The hospital , a library , when a baby is sleeping or church.
Jillian quickly told me at her church you don’t have to be quiet you can just play. Sounds like a good church for kids. 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Many times through out the day I reminded my friends which voices were appropriate for inside play and conversation. I challenge you to help your child regulate their voice at home too!
We also continued looking at mark making today. We made loooooong marks and short marks.
We also made dashes. If you look at the pictures we still have kiddos using a grasp to hold their crayons. Eventually, they will have the correct pencil ✏️ grip. It comes with time and muscle control growth.
We started our mark making today by reading a book about Andrew who loved making marks.
