Building Community

We had a dilemma today. We talked about all the things we wanted to do to make it a great FRIDAY. The kids wanted to watch a cartoon. Though that isn’t in our norm I can flex for that once in a while.

We also talked about sleeping outside. I’ve only done this one day in my whole career but it was beautiful. As we brainstormed today I realized we had a problem. Daily atleast 4 or 5 littles get up to go to the restroom during nap. Even though they literally JUST WENT I don’t make it a deal. I don’t want to be the one responsible for wet clothes. 🙃

Any who – we realized (or I realized ) pretty quickly that since so many still get up that would be a problem. I explained Mr Randy would not be in the house at nap time ( getting groceries ) so they would have to come in alone and that’s not safe.

One child said “ but you can walk us in – that’s safe!” Yes , but then all your friends are in the front yard asleep with no adult to keep them safe.

“ Delta can..” ☺️

“ we can stand up and pull our pants down and pee in the grass .” 👀 well. Yes. You could.

We generated lots of thoughts. We problem solved.

We also have a little guy seriously afraid of the rain. I’m not sure why … I plan to ask. But there were a few times today the sun went behind a cloud and he would start to cry and say “ I don’t want rain.” So —- I need to figure that out too.

Together we decided we should probably wait until the day when we are not getting up so much to run to the restroom during nap and our friend isn’t scared.

We build community and brain power when we problem solve together. I am proud of these little munchkins. ❤️

Bummer. But we did watch 30 minutes of a new dragon cartoon on Netflix.
