Other Signs of Fall

We have talked a lot about the leaves changing colors and falling from the trees. We have also talked about how the wind is starting to get a little more chilly and it gets dark sooner.  Today , we explored a different side of our season change.  Remember for a while we had a wasp problem ?   Today , I brought a desserted wasp nest ( comb) in for the children to explore close up .

“What happened to the wasp ? ”

“Do they live in there ? ”

“I think I see a seed in there. ”

Shivers….. ” I don’t like it. ”

Some of the questions to spark curiosity I was able to ask were :

” How many wasps do you think lived in this nest ?”

” Where are they now ?”

” Do you see any shapes in this nest ?”

Some people have ” Diners, Drives and Dives”  ( Is that right ?)  We have MR LEO!

Last week Leo asked me could he come cook.   After the initial conversation of planning what we could , could not and what we need to have planned for each meal Mr Leo decided he was ready to come cook for us.  Last night I had to remind him that we can’t fry anything in the home while the children are present so if he had to fry anything it would have to be done prior to the children arriving.

It all worked out. The kids were served a red soup , a rolled up chicken taco , grapes and corn. They LOVED it.  We all agreed Mr Leo was an excellent chef. Thanks Leo !
