K is for Kindness
Today the calendar reminded us that it was National Kindness Day. We talked about what kindness means. Sometimes terms like this are used without children really knowing what they mean
What is kindness?
Child – Being Kind.
Until we use words in context it’s hard for them to understand. We say “ are you being kind?” And they say yes without actually understanding.
Today we gifted our neighbors with the same dish towel / pot holder that our parent received with a note that said “ Happy World Kindness Day” from the littles at Bright Beginnings
As we made it stop I would say things like “ They share our driveway with us. That is kind.”
She listens to you all screaming and playing outside and never gets grouchy about it. That is kind.”
“She talks to us when we walk around the block. That is kind.”
