In the end what is on my daily lesson plans do not matter. Now hear me out – that doesn’t mean I don’t have goals for each child.
Lucy – writing her last name , letter recognition
Avery – writing her last name , letter recognition
Alia – 5 conversation exchanges back and forth
Kynslee -following 3 step directions
Skylee- writing her first name and recognizing those letters.
Sandy – rote counting correctly from 12-15 , recognizing 8 letters
Ruby- 5 conversation exchanges back and forth.
My lesson plan today was dying noodles to string to make a Thanksgiving necklace . Fun? YES!!
When it was time to move to this activity this was what was happening at the table.
They were so busy. Who’s to decide if my fun is “better” than their fun?
Can I still accomplish something to work toward each child’s goal while they create their own fun? Absolutely.
We will try noodle necklaces next week.
