Much of our morning was dedicated to creating wonderful artwork for our upcoming show.
We invested our time and effort into crafting unique pieces. The children had the freedom to choose their own colors, with some opting for a minimalistic palette while others embraced the entire spectrum.
After our artistic endeavors, we ventured outdoors to explore the wonders of nature. Our curiosity led us to search for fascinating creatures, including snails, worms, caterpillars, and roly-polys. We eagerly turned over every surface, discovering hidden treasures within the natural world. Engaging with nature not only nurtures a sense of wonder but also encourages a deep appreciation for the environment.
As we continued to immerse ourselves in outdoor play, mud became our medium of choice.
The children joyfully embraced the messy play
. Additionally, we explored the vibrant world of wet chalk, creating temporary masterpieces on the pavement. This sensory experience enhanced our creativity and provided a unique outlet for self-expression.
Our time outside also included engaging in gross motor assessments. We focused on activities such as skipping and catching skills to evaluate the progress since August. Skipping, in particular, requires coordination and the ability to follow a specific pattern. By observing these skills, we can better understand the development of their gross motor abilities. It’s important to remember that skipping cannot be taught; it is a skill that children must have the ability to coordinate in their minds.
