Today was another great day with a smaller group of students. Despite the reduced number, the energy and engagement levels were still high. It’s amazing how much progress we’ve made throughout the year in supporting the children emotionally. I can’t help but smile and feel a sense of satisfaction as I witness problem-solving and conflict resolution skills being put into action among the kids and their friends. It truly validates all the hard work we put in at the beginning of the year
In terms of activities, we had a blast with zoo-themed play that incorporated math concepts like one-to-one correspondence. The kids built individual stalls for each animal, showcasing their creativity and imagination.
To promote fine motor skills, I dedicate one day each week to activities that focus on this area. Today, we created a skyline using different shapes of rectangles and squares. We discussed the concept of height and how some buildings are tall while others are not. We also explored how to reach the top of tall buildings. As we glued the shapes onto paper, we realized the importance of adding doors and windows. This seemingly small activity encompassed various learning concepts, including fine motor skills, which was our main objective.
We wrapped up our morning by enjoying lunch outside, basking in the beautiful weather. It’s moments like these that remind me why I love being a teacher. Every day brings new opportunities for growth and discovery for both the children and myself. Sent from my iPhone
