Valentines Activities
Yall know I don’t prefer teacher directed crafts but at holidays it’s almost a given they are on the plan.
Today we painted ceramic hearts. This was an activity I chose but the children were encouraged to design and make it their own.
We also did a handprint craft for the mommas and daddies. You won’t believe how fast these little hands will grow.
Even though these were teacher directed crafts and making sure everyone got a turn used up all out outside time 🥹 there is still value .
Let me think hard … 🤣
The children got great fine motor practice as they held the tiny brushes painting their heart.
The children practiced patience as they waited their turn.
For some there was science as the paint was mixed with other colors.
I’ll never say there is no value in teacher directed activities. I’ll just say it’s not my preference. I like building thinkers and problem solvers over followers.
