As the temperatures dropped, we decided to stay cozy and warm indoors today. Even though we’ve experienced colder days before, today’s chill seemed to shoot right to the bone, so we made the most of our time inside. We focused on nurturing our environment and creating a sense of responsibility among the children.
One of the best ways to build a strong community is by involving children in taking care of their own spaces. At our preschool, we encourage them to be responsible for their areas, teaching them the value of cleanliness and organization. It’s amazing to see how they embrace this responsibility and take pride in their contributions. Even the simplest tasks can empower them and boost their self-esteem.
Today, I had a wonderful surprise when shy Avery eagerly volunteered to help me clear underneath a shelf. It’s incredible to witness how she blossoms when given the opportunity to assist. She loves feeling needed and valued, and it’s a joy to see her confidence grow.
To make the day extra special, we granted the children’s request to watch the movie “Spirit.” As they sat together, there was plenty of galloping and cheering throughout the film. It’s heartwarming to see their friendship and camaraderie in action.
Wednesday is always cooking day at our preschool, and today we decided to make a delicious treat for snack time – strawberry Jell-O! The children were excited to help prepare this colorful and tasty treat. Not only did they have fun, but they also learned valuable skills in the kitchen.
Parents, we encourage you to involve your children in age-appropriate tasks at home as well. The sense of empowerment they feel when they contribute to the household is truly wonderful. Let them experience the joy of being needed and valued, and watch them grow in confidence and independence.
