You guys know we do self portraits once a month and today was the day. As the children came one by one to the table, it was amazing to see the progress that they have made.
Lucy told the whole story with hers. The little face down beside hers is God. I said what is this she said it is God. I love God. 😘
And then there’s Trae who put so many small details on his self portrait.
And let’s not forget Journey… Who for a year and a half has hated to come do this. He dislikes anything in the art room that requires fine motor. As he gets older and those fine motor muscles develop, he gets more confident and feels better about it. Today when I called him… He said” yay I get to do self portrait!” Progress !
( His pencil grip is still a little off, but I’m not going to pick on it or dwell on it and squish his excitement. As he gets more confident, that pencil grip will get better. )
When you get concerned that your child will not be able to write their name because it’s not something that I teach remember these posts, If they’re able to draw with such intricate detail, they absolutely will be able to draw letters. And when it’s their time it’ll magically appear just like these amazing drawings.
