I do assessments at the beginning at end of the year. I’ve used the Dial 3 assessment tool for years. It’s my favorite. The assessment is primarily given to make sure if a child needs extra help ( speech therapy , occasional therapy ) we catch it early.
Today I worked on the motor portion.
Can you catch a bean bag ?
Can you hop up and down on one leg? I want to research this more. I am so intrigued as to when this skill comes on board. Watching the younger 3s try was just interesting and entertaining. It’s like their brain literally could not help them move to accomplish this skill.
Can you build these structures that I model ?
Can you twiddle your thumbs or do piano fingers ? ( touching each finger to the thumb and back in order )
Can you copy letters or symbols ?
Can you cut on a straight line or curved line ?
It was a lot. So we baked cookies together to celebrate our hard work.
( Yum. 3 ingredients- canned pumpkin, spice cake mix and chocolate chips. Bake at 350 about 25 minutes)
