Safe Room Practice
We’ve already had a fire drill this month. I am required to do a fire drill and a tornado drill monthly. Today we practiced going quickly and calmly to our safe room. Once in I closed the door to show them how dark it might get. We do have a battery operated radio and battery lights
I usually don’t use the term tornado a lot. Many children have been programmed to be really scared at the sound of the work tornado. I say “ kids- the weather outside is not safe. There’s a lot of wind and rain. We need to go in our safe place.”
It went well. I had no one scared or anxious. My only concern was Graham saying “hmmm… I didn’t know that door closes.” 👀🫣🥹😐😵💫
