Pulleys
Years ago Mr Randy installed a pulley on the playground with a bucket. He taught the children how to put toys on it and pull them up and down.
We don’t play with it often because it needs constant supervision and with one adult that’s difficult outside
My grandson Preston came this weekend and took the bucket down. So – there we are !
Over an hour the children worked figuring out how the pulley works and remembering the rules to keep it safe . We always announce when the bucket is on the way down so no heads get bonked.
The children really enjoyed this activity today and I could attach about 20 learning standards to show you the learning that was taking place. But I won’t – just trust me – science , social development, gross motor development, language … so much !
