I know when you hear six children you might think “that’s still a lot” but considering that for more than 20 years I had 16 every day and now I have nine and today there are only six – this feels like a cakewalk.
On days like this I tend to just ask the children what they would like to do. This is different than observing the children and watching for their direction and helping scaffold their learning to play. Today was literally… “Several of our friends are gone what would you guys like to do for fun?”
First we went on an adventure and crept up my stairs
to my resource room and they saw where I store all the extras . We found a brand new tub of brilliant green Play-Doh and brought it down and that keep us busy for more than an hour.
After that we decided to cook strawberry cupcakes
All in all, I don’t think the children planned too terrible of a day. The day was relaxed and fun
