Last week we spent a lot of our time looking at ramps. We figured out what they were and what could go down them and what could not m. We even went on walks looking for real life ramps. This week we are going to look at tunnels.
I printed some pictures of tunnels for the children to look at. What makes a tunnel a tunnel?
First we brainstormed how we could make tunnels in our classroom space. I mean, as much as a group of three-year-olds and an old teacher can brainstorm.
We remembered that we had a tunnel on the playground
We weren’t getting very far trying to figure out what we needed that was already in our space so I added some props today. I added sawhorses and a blanket
And then they seemed to understand the assignment .
At one point everyone was under the tunnel and they were talking about how crowded it was. Yael jumped out and said I know what we need to do. He pulled one of the sawhorses farther out to make the tunnel larger. What a smart boy
We have more things to discover. I even think I might leave the sawhorses in the house. 😳
