Did the kids tell you we finished our purple book? it is 35 weeks of daily phonemic awareness practice.
It’s the only time during the day that I do rote teaching. I will tell you that I do it with clenched teeth. But it’s five minutes… And no one dies so we continue.
I started this a couple years ago when our school district started using it . I do not teach rote letter naming or letter sounds so using this will hopefully give my children a little bit of a easier transition into kindergarten.
Today I saw this:
We have learned 28 nursery rhymes.
Even our younger children can successfully rhyme words.
I’m excited for them to get to kindergarten and say “Oh! I know how to do that!”
