You all know that I don’t directly teach letters or letter sounds. But I do activities all the time that involve the alphabet. Today as I’m still introducing materials we used dot markers. It only seemed natural to teach them the skill of using markers by making dots on the letter of their first name. I still have a couple of our new ones struggling to find their water bottle that their name is painted on in two different places. That tells me that probably they’re not recognizing the first letter of their name. Eventually it will happen .
We also had another rare Occurrence today. Very seldom do we have screen time but I keep seeing in my Netflix that leap frog is on there now. I love leap frog materials and so today we watched “The Letter Factory.”
It’s a really cute cartoon that sings through the letters and their sounds. I think there’s so many better ways to spend our time and looking at a screen but sometimes it’s just fun. You might try the leapfrog series on Netflix .
I love looking around the room and seeing all the ways the children are engaged and learning.
Several of the kids took puzzles out today and were successful putting them together. Two of the girls made their own calendars and hung them for the class.
And when one of our friends was having a hard time another friend helped her to calm down .
GOOD GOOD STUFF.
We did get to spend some time outside today .
And of course – there’s always Mr. Randy to make us laugh. ❤️
