Today we are living our best life. We started our morning with our normal family time routine including our “purple book.” Then I asked the children what they thought about spending the day outside and going for a walk in looking for signs of spring.
Heck yeah, they were all in. So we all used the bathroom and headed down the road by 830.
On our walk we went through the jungle. The boys said they like to go to the jungle so I sent them through my version.
Once we got to the bottom of the jungle there was an amazing cave. I wonder if a bear lives in there?

After leaving there we walked and found a gazebo and jumped and danced and sang our way through the gazebo while we rested.
After that we saw squirrel climbing through the old community building and passed by the fire station.
We found a beautiful dog watching over his owners shop.
We discovered circles at the park downtown
We found another gazebo.
And then we were rock stars on the stage downtown.
We found the new beautiful mural the city had made and found where the artist had signed it. We always sign our artwork so we know who spent their time creating the beauty.
Then revisiting my own childhood I encouraged them to roll down the big hill and boy did they ever. They loved it.
Returning home we played outside even more
And then we had lunch outside.
Best day ever.
In case there are parents that are thinking “what good is a day like this?” Aside from respecting and valuing childhood … ( we should be able to stop there ) we explored our city which is very important to children. I would rather teach children about their city all day long rather than dinosaurs or oceans which many of them have no experience in. We also practiced literacy skills
as we pointed to letters and read signs along our way.
We also did math as we counted and hopped along stones. All of the things that are done in the classroom that are appropriate for children can be done on a wonderful walk around our town.
Today we are living our best life and in our happy place.
