This absolutely made my day today- as we opened the door I heard our first child running down the sidewalk yelling “yippee!!” It’s such a good feeling to know when you’re missed. I’m sure the kids feel the same way. We made a point today to make sure we actually said” I missed you while you were gone.” We all need a place where we belong.
We resumed most of our routines today. We did our “purple book” and it had a new skill for us to learn. We are really good at adding a sound at the beginning of a word or taking away a sound at the end and listening for a sound in the middle. Today we exchanged a sound at the beginning . We practiced taking the initial sound at the beginning of a word and changing it. That is not an easy skill but I heard many of the children being successful.
Dog / exchange “d” for “h” hog
Sat/ exchange “s” for “b” bat
We also had a new nursery rhyme today.
Roses are red
violets are blue
sugar is sweet
and so are you.
The last couple weeks of school our playdoh was MIA. With hand foot and mouth infections rampant we decided that having the Playdoh out ran too much of a risk for contamination . Today everyone seemed healthy so we made more Playdoh.
The kids really enjoyed it
It was red like our nursery rhyme ❤️
We also brought out a new toy. As a gift for allowing the FCCRS Team to visit us they sent us a $200 Kaplan gift card. I bought us another set of magnatiles.
The challenge today was allowing everyone time to play. We made a list. Uh oh — you gotta write your name. 🤷🏻♀️
We did another tornado drill 🙄
It was a great day. Yalls kiddos are so chill. We love them very much.
