Today Holly called in because Kamden was sick and her mom was not available. Mr. Randy helped me today. If you remember we did that together for many years. When things like this happen is when you find out where your true strengths are. If your routine is reliable and your relationships strong- little things like one teacher being absent does not throw everyone for a loop. I think this would be the same for our homes. If your routines at home are pretty solid when mom or dad has to be gone it is easier on everyone.
So we got started with our day .
It’s always fun when Mr. Randy is in the kitchen and passes out extra treats while he cooks.
We did a little more ornament making.
We were even brave and took out the glitter.
The hardest times when your routine is a little juggled is during transitions. While we were preparing to put lunch on the table I had the children do a little fine motor work with beading. I encouraged an A / B pattern red , white , red , white- but it wasn’t absolutely necessary. Some did. Some didn’t.
Savanna’s mom showed up to play. The kids enjoyed her energy.
I would say it was a pretty good day.
Currently, the children are nestled all snug in their beds while visions of sugarplums dance over their heads.
