Literacy and Santa
Who knew you could encourage kids to write letters by simply starting the day with a Christmas Song early in the morning and showing them a new prop I got for the playroom ?
We read a great little book given to us from Olivia today. It was a little wordy but the children stayed pretty engaged. Afterwards we sang a Christmas song and I introduced our Santa mailbox. Immediately more than half our children were gathered around the table drawing pictures and writing letters to Santa.
I have course reminded them that they need to write their name on the letter or Santa would have no idea who it was from .
