Spookly the Square Pumpkin
I did it. I couldn’t help myself. I got out one of my theme boxes out today. When I made a delivery to the storage unit I saw the bright orange box filled with Halloween props and activities and I just couldn’t help myself. I am justifying it since most of the kids ARE talking about Halloween . They didn’t ask for me to get more Halloween materials out but I JUST KNOW THAT THEY WANT ME TO. HAHAH!
Its a tradition here to read the book ” Spookly the Square Pumpkin.” I did that and we talked about what kind of pumpkin we would grow if we were pumpkin farmers. They kids decided, drew and cut out their pumpkins. We had rectangle, squares, triangles and round pumpkins. SO much learning going on with this activity .
We also did a little pumpkin one to one correspondence .
Matched a few pumpkin letters …
and did a little monster eye color matching.
It was a good day .
