Friendship
The first week of school was primarily about creating a sense of safety. Have you ever walked into a party or a meeting and felt a little uncomfortable? Maybe you look around and you don’t see anyone that you know but you are intently searching the room for that one familiar face. When you see that friend you have a smile and a feeling of ” Yes ! There is one of my tribe ! ” Kids feel that way too. This week more than anything we wanted the kids to reconnect with old friends and build new friendships with our littles that just joined our family .
I think we were pretty successful . Familiar faces and friends create safety. I . Am. Safe.
I am loved.
This new school gig might not be so bad.
