Assessments
While we played outside today we continued to trudge along and get these assessments completed. Sometimes its exciting to see how much the littles have learned. Sometimes they are interested in everything BUT playing a game with me and the assessment score is skewed. I honestly don’t take a lot of stock in these kinds of assessments. Ongoing observation and assessment through listening and watching during play is best.
Who has a daddy that calls during construction week and says ” Can I bring the backhoe over ? ” WHAT ? CAN YOU ??? PLEASE DO! The kids loved it and Chris even put on a little show to demonstrate how to works.
Arkansas Children’s Week 2017 is ” Get Outdoors ! Play and Explore! ” NAEYC’s theme was Tasty Tuesdays. As much as I wanted to let the kids prepare part of their food today outside, we just didn’t have the time. ( Read first paragraph. ) We did eat breakfast outside. We also cleaned and payed special attention to the mud kitchen and made some tasty mud pies . Some of your littles clothes will bear evidence.
