Goldilocks and The Three Bears

Today our focus was on an old favorite fairy tale ” Goldilocks and the Three Bears. ” We made puppets .

Heard the story through book and you tube video.

We acted out the story.

We hit a lot from the Arkansas Early Childhood Education Framework benchmarks doing this type of activity.

Demonstrates confidence in growing abiliies

Demonstrates a willingness to try new things

Demonstrates interest and participates in classroom activities

Shares ; respects the rights of others

Works cooperatively with others on completing a task

Shows creativity and imagination in play with materials and props

Participates in dramatic play themes that become more involved and complex

Assumes various roles in dramatic play situations

Participates in songs, fingerplays, rhyming activities and games

And then… in Worksampling ( an online assessment that I use )

Interacts easily with one or more children

Participates in the group life of the class

Shows appreciation of books from reading

Recounts some key ideas and details from a text

Participates in creative movement and drama

Thats a LOT.

But dont tell the kids… they were just acting out the story of the three bears.
