Today we started our unit on apples. We will be apple’d out but the end of the week.
There was an apple pie sensory bin made with oatmeal and cinnamon .
There was an apple lacing card for fine motor practice.
There was an apple playdough center where the children could use real leaves and tiny sticks to make pretend apples. There were even beans to use as seed.
There were dry erase fun sheets on the table for kiddos that wanted to use markers.
There was a cutting basket with shiny red material for cutting practice.
There was also apple scented playdoh at one of the table areas to play with.
For small groups we read a weekly reader about apples. Apples are red, green or yellow. Apples grow on trees. Apples have seeds. Apples are food. We also played an apple tree game where the children put apples on the trees the corresponded with the numbers on the tree.
