Spring Temps in December
Can you believe the weather outside today ? It is like spring. The kiddos are sleeping right now with the windows open and the breeze blowing through. It feels amazing.
While we are enjoying warmer than normal temps we are also making CHristmas paper chains. Doing these with children is not as easy as it may seem. Helping them understand how to close the loop after you have linked them together is difficult. Many times you end up with a lot of circles and no chain. But we had a little success !
Another thing we did today was start an advent calendar. We are counting down the days until our Christmas program on the 20th. In each bag is something fun to do – a Christmas bucket list or a challenge and MAYBE… a sweet treat. Today’s bag had a slip of paper that said ” Do a random act of kindness ” We talk all the time about being kind and what some things they might be able to do when we get home. There was also a treat of chocolate covered cherries in the bag. Yummy… ( I did a counting activity with the kids the other day and noticed that some of them knew the numeral when they looked at it but had no idea how to count it out. Ways to reinforce this at home are counting toys, counting cookies , counting people at the table… etc… )
