Today we read a book about the life cycle of a pumpkin. After reading it we used picture cards to practice sequencing the life of a pumpkin.
We also did a little science experience. I cut the top off the pumpkin and let the kids explore the seeds and goop for a while and then we filled the pumpkin with dirt. It will be interesting to see if the pumpkin seeds sprout.
We have had a fun time learning about pumpkins this past few weeks. Next week these fun activities will all be put away and new ones out in their place.
Some fun things that made me smile in our room today :
Dillion had a whole conversation with a police man about dogs in his yard. It was really in depth and he went into great detail even pausing to listen for answers. Love him.
Kat brought me a letter K from the circle time area today and said ” Ms Debbie, this is the K from my name.” Yes ! YES! It is Kat.
I hope everyone has a great weekend . Please get out of the house and take the kids to drive around and see how much our world changes during the fall. It is breathtaking.
