This morning we went on a listening walk. We heard big dogs and little dogs . We heard birds, and crickets and squirrels and cars driving down the street. The weather was beautiful.
We stopped in the library and read the book ” The Listening Walk”.
The we spent some time playing at the park. It is a amazing how much energy small children have . I read a joke about grandma’s the other day. It said ” where do grandchildren get all their energy ? They steal it from grandmas! ” I believe that.
The park is a great place to strengthen our gross motor skills. We learn to balance and climb. We play chasing games and learn that we stay safe if we stay inside the blue ring .
After we got home we popped popcorn. Remember the old days of popcorn in a real popper, not the microwave? We can see it, hear it, smell it, taste it and touch it. A perfect way to end our unit on 5 senses!
