Valentines is a perfect time to talk about feelings. We made a chart of the different feelings that we know. Happy- Sad- Scared etc…. and made the faces we felt went with each. We also talked about things that make us happy. ” Mom playing games with me” ” Mom hugging me ” and the typical answer for angry was that someone pushed. Teaching children the appropriate terms for their feelings sometimes help them deal with them in a less aggressive way. Looking at their face and saying ” I see that you are angry, you face is telling me that. What is bothering you?” No time like the present to start those conversations that teach us how to deal in the real world.
Love all the activities you came up with! It looks like they had a lot of fun… Hope that ice storm isn't tooo bad!! We have one coming our way tomorrow too, I am looking forward to a day on the couch 🙂
