Validation
Two of our friends had a disagreement today. We even read a book called “We disagree.” . It was really minor, but you could tell it was a standoff. Four months ago there would have been gnashing of teeth – but today … After some coaching and conversation and a calm down technique or two our friends were able to reconcile and smile and say “ Im not mad anymore.” When I looked at our dial three assessments i was a little concerned when it came to letter recognition… But today reminded me why I do what I do – I felt completely validated. These kiddos will be able to recognize and write all of their letters – upper and lowercase by the end of kindergarten without a problem at all, but they will also do it with a strong resilient ability to get along with others.
