Traditions
Traditions are another structure that builds resilience in children and families.
I heard another provider tell her families tradition the other day. She said they light candles on Christmas Eve in order of how they entered the family. Grandma and grandpa start and the baby of the family finishes the cycle. She said everyone looks forward to it. I think that’s a wonderful tradition. Children look forward to going to grandmas house every year to light their candle. I don’t know about you but I want to be that grandma!
That’s what I think of when we make these little Christmas treasures.
We made something today that maybe you can incorporate into a new tradition.
Maybe you light it each night and read a Christmas book. Maybe it only gets lit and set next to Santa’s cookies.
