Who Dis?
The holidays are hard. Schedules are off. Good is different. Emotions are sometimes carried on our sleeve.
Many teachers find these are the times to “buckle down “ and add more structure to keep the kids “ in line.” I find it more appropriate to expect less and give more time to just relax and play.
Thankfully the weather is supportive of this right now.
We did family time today including our phonemic awareness program We moved around some furniture. I love the book nook but what I found is rarely did the children sit on the bench to read. It just didn’t happen. They grab a book and sit in the floor. Space is valuable so we made some changes.
Assess and adjust.
It took most of the littles less than 10 minutes to go to sleep. They must have been super tired. I am super grateful.
