Rainy Day Toys !

Today we had two more new moms come in and play and a DADDY!

This is Liz, Joslyn’s mom.  Liz had fun playing playdoh and dressing up in the dramatic play area and having a tea party . Thanks Liz.

Ty’s mom, Rhonda stayed for a bit and played this morning while grandma had baby Simon. She helped the kids read the book ” Pete The Cat .” I am sure it was done SEVERAL times today , they love that book !

One of our small group projects today was painting inside the first letter of our first name.

There was a LOT of dressing up going on today.

On rainy days when we cant go outside, we take out special gross motor toys . The kids are really attracted to them because they are only taken out a few times a year.  When we go outside we use muscles that dont get used as much inside.  One of  the main purposes of outside play ( in our lesson planning ) is to strengthen our large muscles. Our special toys include things like a balance beam, a bowling game and bath sponges that are safe to throw.

We also had another special visitor today. The first DADDY came to volunteer and to hang out. I think Aiden enjoyed having his dad , Dave , here and the kids did too.  Many times I looked over and he was tying a child’s shoe or helping them with a game.  Awesome example to set Dave, thanks for coming.

It has been another good day.  It has been a great week!  Reminders – Bright Beginnings is closed Monday for Labor Day. Tuesday when you come in will be picture day !

Happy long weekend friends !
